Frantic Stamper - Sweet Holly Snowman

HAPPY FRIDAY ( at least here in the US)!!!  I am sooooo happy to be sharing a sweet little tag I made with Sweet Holly Snowman for the September Frantic Stamper Release.  I love this sweet little guy, maybe even more that the Sweet Holly Penguin.

Here's a little tag I made with him in the spotlight -

The background is stamped with Starry Night background stamp, also from this release.  The snow was created by using Stitched Waves and the banner is one of my all time favs, Double Fishtail Labels

Thanks for taking a peek, I do so appreciate your visits and your comments.  Remember there's plenty more to see on Facebook or over at the Frantic Stamper store!

CRAFT Challenge 434

It's time for another CRAFT Challenge!  We would love for you to join us in making your choice of an Autumn, Halloween or Thanksgiving card.

Our Sponsor this week is -

I chose to go with Halloween because I have this darling set I got on sale.  It was begging to be inked up.  Here's my card using Taylored Expressions Tag-a-long Halloween -

This was background was made with distress inks and Frantage Embossing powder.  Looks kinda like a starry night, where all sorts of interesting things could happen.

I wonder which card you will choose to create.  For plenty of inspiration and a chance to enter and win, head over to the CRAFT Challenge blog.  All the details are available there.

I also want to remind you we have a DT call going on.  This is a fun, no pressure team to work with.  Jo, our fearless leader, is very organized, which allows you to work ahead if you are of the mind.  There is some flexibility in the images you use for the challenges, the main thing is that you have fun!

Busy September!

Wow, lots going on out in Blogland this month!  The 30 Day Color Challenge has been going on with Kathy Racoosin, last week the Fall Coffee Lover's Blog Hop started and I've decided to try jumping in the Gerda Steiner progressive challenge again.

I am happy to say I have been keeping up with my daily coloring since the challenge began.  Some nights it's only for a few minutes and much of the coloring hasn't been made it to cards yet, but it'll get there.  I did this little Gerda Stiner guy the other day and took the liberty of drawing a handle on his bowl so I could join in on the fun at FCLBH -

The papers used are from Doodlebug Designs Fall Friends.  I used the sentiment from The Cat's Pajamas set, Big Cups and the wreath is a TCP CutUps, Grapevine Wreath.

With September whizzing by I need to get this post up before I miss out on all the fun!

Leaf it to Me

Happy Wednesday!  It's Kate's turn this week and she is saying "leaf it to me".  In LRW speak, that means she wants us to use leaves on your creations this week.

Oh, which way do you go for this one.  Some places, the beautiful Fall leaves are beginning to show themselves which sounds like fun...but I happened to have this funky little Vera Lane Studios Hula Girl already colored up (30 day coloring challenge is going on and I think I have colored every day in one medium or another!) and it fits, right?  She's wearing a ti leaf skirt, there are palm leaves embossed and the fresh pineapple still has it's leaf crown.  Here she is, hope you like her -

So, I guess I will leaf it up to you (had to say that and the other GF probably will too😉.  You need go stop by the Little Red Wagon and follow their links to see if I am right.  I hope you'll consider joining us this week!

I'm really getting into Christmas mode.  Here's my card using Ornaments and Season's Greeting CutUps and the small "splatters" are from Watercolor Basics (can you tell I LOVE this set?).  I'm sorry, these pics were really hard to get because of all the beautiful metallic shine -

Frantic Stamper Modern Cardinal Plus

I have a couple more cards to share using the newest Frantic Stamper stamps and dies.  My first card is another triangle-fold card (my rough tutorial) using Modern Cardinals and the Starry Night background stamp -

I used Starry Night with Brutus Monroe's Gilded embossing powder on top of design paper.  The tag was created with Stitched Rounded Squares.  The smaller cardinal was used from the set was used and believe it or not, the "branch" was created using the Large Staghorn Coral die from an earlier release.

My next card features Large Peeking Reindeer and of course he needed the red nose, right?  Here what turned out -

I did a modification of the inlaid die technique by cutting squares and laying Rudy right in the middle.  I backed my white cardstock with a patterned paper from Doodlebug Designs which also served to leave a clean background for the inside of the card.  I stamped the sentiment from Triangle Trees stamp set and another easy card. I like making flat cards to post, just so much easier and cost

You know the drill for more inspiration.  Here are the links to the Facebook page and the Frantic Stamper blog if you care to see more.

I'm so grateful for your visits, thanks!

Frantic Stamper

Happy weekend everyone!  I am going to share a couple of cards I made with dies from the latest Frantic Stamper release - Christmas is Here.  The first card was made with Sweet Holly Penguin and Mix and Match Merry Christmas from a previous release -

For this card I did the inlaid die technique for Merry Christmas and cut an extra holly to add a bit more decoration.  Loved making this sweet card!

My second card features Star on a String.  I love, love, love this simple yet elegant die.  The sentiment is from the Triangle Trees clear set and the holly is from Sweet Holly Penguin -

This is another card made fast and easy by stamping and heat embossing the sentiment.  I put a few Stickles dots for holly berries and did the inlaid die technique to hand the stars.

Here are the links to the Facebook page and the Frantic Stamper blog if you care to see more.  I also want to put in my personal two cents about the folks at Frantic Stamper.  I don't remember all the details at this point partly because my order was placed and filled at dizzying speed.  I want to say I got my order on Wednesday after I placed it on a Sunday which is almost unheard of to Hawaii.  To top it all off, they are so sweet.  Suffice it to say, I will be placing more orders to them because of their superior customer service.

OK, that's it.  Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Whimsie Doodles Challenge

It's Whimsie Doodles Challenge time!  We are all back after a great summer, raring to share some of the darling digis over in the Whimsie Doodles store.

Our September challenge theme is Anything goes with an Optional Twist of Let's Dress Up.  We would love for you to join use in using the twist and some of the Doodlicious Digis, but it's totally up to you.  As fas as "dress up" goes, that could mean "dress up" as in Halloween or as in wearing your best clothes.

I had fun coloring up Frankie and Frankie's Girlfriend (found under Holiday/Events) with Prismacolor Pencils, which is still fairly new for me and I used some gorgeous sparkley Nuvo Glimmer paste with a Tim Holtz stencil to create the background.  For more inspiration take a look at Kel and Joy's creations here.

I hope you'll have time to join us this month.  For all the detail on the challenge including prize information follow the link above to the Whimsie Doodles blog.

As always, pray you are enjoying your craft!

Frantic Stamper Sweet Holly Penguin

Hi all!  I have another card to share using the fab dies from the Frantic Stamper August release.  This card features Sweet Holly Penguin and Starry Night background stamp, Modern Happy is from a previous release -

This made a super sweet shaker, so fun to share for the holidays.  For more great makes using this die and all the others from this release you can head over to the Frantic Stamper Facebook page and join in on all the fun!

Thanks for checking in!

Distress It

It's like in the cartoons, the calendar pages just flying off that calendar.  Honestly I am feeling the challenge this week is perfect because that time flying thing is causing me "distress".  I can't believe were are in the middle of September and it's another LRW Wednesday.  So, the challenge this week is DISTRESS IT, which means we would like to see Distress Ink on your creations.

I happen to love every way you can use DI, but I think my favorite way is to "smoosh" or watercolor with it.  I love that I have very little control over it with these techniques and that it has such a wonderful organic look.  Anyway, here's my card featuring The Cat's Pajamas new Bunny stamp, Creep It Real -

I used Chipped Sapphire, Wilted Violet and Stormy Sky DI with some Gansai Tambi watercolors to my the background.  I smooshed the DI and put puddles of the gold Gansai Tambi on the paper and did the old blow it with a straw trick.  Remember that one?

I know the Girlfriends are going to rock this challenge, so head over to the Little Red Wagon and follow their links.  I hope you'll consider joining us this week!

Release Day Blog Hop

You don't have to wait any longer!  It's release day over at The Cat's Pajamas!  The three new stamps sets, 4 new CutUps (btw the dove is free with your $60 purchase) and 2 new Cutables are available in the store!

To celebrate this great new release, we are doing a blog hop that features Cat Pack makes for the current TCP Tuesday Challenge theme -

If you've landed here from Julie's blog you are on the right track.  She is one creative Kitty!  As for me, I was so inspired by Alma's video that I had to make a gingerbread house -

I used the Cutable for the gingerbread house and most of the decorations.  The Bunny from Got Snow seemed like such a perfect match.  He looks like he's opening those arms to welcome you or to offer you a bite of gingerbread.  The little wreath on the door is from J*lly H*liday set.

Here's a peek at Alma's video -

I hope you've enjoyed the sneaky peeks this past week.  I'll look forward to seeing your creations for TCP Tuesday.  Here's the complete blog hop list for your convenience -

Thanks for hopping with us!

CRAFT Challenge #432 - Embossing

My sincere apologies.  I just realized I never posted my CRAFT Challenge made.  Guess I'll go with that old saying, "better late than never".

It's time for another CRAFT Challenge!  We would love for you to join us in adding embossing on your project this week.  You pick what kind of embossing.

Our Sponsor this week is -

The prize is 3 digital stamps of winners choice from Star Stampz.

This week I am using a Star Stampz image called Balloons and Ice cream.  I'm not sure she is still available, I couldn't find her in the shop -

As you can see, I dry embossed some additional clouds for this little cutie to fly around.  The papers are digital from Nitwits Collections, Just Hatched which I thought worked perfectly.

I hope you've been by the CRAFT Challenge blog.  We would love to see your creations and see you have a chance to win some of these wonderful images.
